My corporate experience spans decades with several blue-chip organisations. All these case studies involved a process of consultation, creation of bespoke solutions and their implementation.

Leadership Development:

LafargeHolcim Uganda & Tanzania: In need of empowering the Supervisor cohort within their mines, in association with PeopleSmart to implement an extensive Leadership Development and Coaching Programme. This took place over several years using a combination of bespoke workshops, team-building and one-on-one coaching.  

Health and Wellness:

ImerysSA: Dedicated to the upliftment of its employee’s wellbeing, this mine initiated an extensive health and wellness program. Over a 8-year period, in association with PeopleSmart I worked across the company to educate and empower the staff to take control of their own health and wellness. This involved imparting skills, tools and techniques to positively impact on attitudes and behaviours regarding health, wellness and safety and working with partners to roll-out extensive HIV and TB testing and treatment programs. 

South African Breweries (SAB): Over a 10-year period, I initiated a ground-breaking Employee Wellness Program. This involved stretching, influencing and challenging employees’ perceptions, stereotypes and attitudes to health and wellness issues. It also involved work to provide retrenchees with extensive psychosocial, vocational and business support.

Change Management:

LiquidTelecom: During a recent retrenchment process fraught with high levels of uncertainty and stress, in association with Careways and assisted employees & managers to cope with the change. This involved an in-depth needs analysis process and then workshops and coaching sessions that focused on empowerment, shifting out of victim mode into a creator mindset and building resilience. I then coached individuals to craft and shape their personal brand in order to move into alternative employment.

CAMAF Medical Scheme: In a series of interventions over a 2 month period, I worked to stabilise the manager and employee base and help them to navigate their transition to an independent, self-administered scheme. This involved empowering employees & managers with skills, information, techniques and tools to cope with the change and to flourish in their new context. 

Conflict Management:

Shell:  In association with Careways, I was called in to help resolve conflict within a key team, I initiated a series of processes to help build trust within their team and with other departments. This was a process that involved extensive dialogue and in-depth consultation in order to lower tensions and improve relationships. The process helped them to build and leverage their relationships within their team and with other stakeholders. This led to enhanced performance, decreased levels of conflict and improved communication.

  • Certified Integral Coach through the Centre for Coaching at the UCT Graduate School of Business.
  • Certified 3VQ Coach by The Power of TED (The Empowerment Dynamic – Donna Zarjonc & David Emerald).
  • National Diploma in Human Resource Management.

  • Member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF.
  • Member of Faculty at the Centre for Coaching and UCT Graduate School of Business, and I mentor coaches undertaking the Coaching for Development (CfD) programme.
